Bharti University, Durg, organised an inspirational programme on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, Indiaβs first woman teacher and a great social reformer. The objective of the programme was to remember her valuable contributions in the fields of education, women's empowerment and social equality, and to create awareness among students about her thoughts and ideals.
As part of the programme, Essay Writing, Poster Making and Speech Competitions were conducted. Students participated enthusiastically and creatively presented the life, struggles and ideals of Savitribai Phule. The speakers highlighted her historic role in social reform and her remarkable contribution to the field of education.
The Poster Making Competition was judged by Dr Ajay Singh. The winners were: First Prize β Lovely Das, Second Prize β Chandramukhi Sahu and Third Prize β Dhaneshwari Thakur. The Speech Competition was judged by Dr Aalok Bhatt, in which Bhavika secured First Prize, Karsha Dewangan Second Prize and Neeraj Third Prize. The Essay Writing Competition was judged by Dr Vidyawati Chandrakar. The winners were: First Prize β Sanjana, Second Prize β Yamini and Third Prize β Suruchi.
The programme was coordinated by Mrs Nikita Phaskhanewala and Mrs Neetu Sahu. The event was successfully organised with the valuable support of the Head of the Department of Education, Dr. Manoj Maurya, and the faculty members of the department β Dr. Akhilesh Sen, Mrs. Hemlata Chandrakar, Dr. Neelam Trehan, Dr. Prabha Giri, Dr. Tanuja Chandrakar and Dr. Durga Srivastava.
The programme was conducted by Ms. Jharna. With the collective efforts of all, the programme was successfully concluded. At the end, students and teachers pledged to adopt the ideals of Savitribai Phule in their lives.
