The English Department gives students the tools they need “to seek, to know, to serve” by teaching them how to read and write with insight and clarity in order to better comprehend the world and express themselves. Our mission encompasses the entire student body through the composition programme, the University Studies courses we instruct, and the Writing Centre, even though the department’s goals are focused on our majors and represent our fields. Students who major in other subjects have the chance to further their interests in writing, literary analysis, and the dramatic arts with minors in English and theatre.
